About the Author
Debra Shigley is a journalist, speaker, and author of the book The Go-Getter Girl's Guide: Get What You Want in Work and Life (and Look Great While You're at It).
She earned her undergraduate degree at Harvard, and her JD, cum laude, at Georgia State. She began her media career at CNN, and then worked full-time as an editor for Atlanta magazine while she completed her law degree at night. Most recently she was an employment law associate at a top firm. Her work has appeared in numerous publications including Allure, Fast Company, Budget Travel, Daily Candy, Go! the Airtran magazine, Neiman Marcus thebook, and Heart & Soul. She has been featured as a career/lifestyle expert on ABC's The View, CNN, TBS Movie & A Makeover, and in The Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Redbook and many more. She lives in Atlanta with her husband.
